Mehliya Cetinkaya is a young Uyghur girl born in Canada, she has always been active in the Uyghur cause and is one of the youngest Uyghur activists at the age of 15. She has organized protests, conferences, photo galleries etc. in Edmonton with her mother Mukerrem Qurban. Also along with her mother she runs the Alberta Uyghur Association based in Edmonton. Mehliya is not only very active in the Uyghur community but also a plethora of other human rights movements such as BLM, female rights, climate activism etc. She is also a writer, speaker and a IB highschool student, she hopes to study law in the future. Mehliya dedicates her time to use her freedom in Canada to create change in the world for the better.
